Firstly I would like to make very clear that there are two Movenpick hotels in Madinah which some reviewers seem to be mixing up! This one is part of the Accor group and the Movenpick Madina that we stayed in. It is BEHIND the Pullman Zamzam Madinah, which faces one side of the Masjid al Nabawi haram. So it is a couple of roads walk away from the haram on the opposite side to the female entrances to the haram. This is nowhere near five star standard. Due to the poor condition of the bathrooms and room decor I would say three is being generous. Despite its attractive entrance and reception this is a rundown hotel in need of refurbishment, in particular the disgusting bathrooms. The bath, sinks and tiles were old, stained and mouldy. This was made worse by the fact that the housekeeping was very poor. The rooms weren’t cleaned and towels not changed unless we requested this. The actual rooms were ok despite the tired looking furnishings and lack of cleaning. The receptionist who checked us in apologised for not giving us adjacent rooms, but we discovered we did have adjacent rooms, and both were triple rooms. The rooms were quite spacious with comfortable generous sized beds but the TVs had very poor reception and the wifi was appalling, regularly dropping out. The fridges in the rooms were tiny and barely cold. In fact they and the lights turned off whenever we took the key cards out! Because of the hotel location the view out of the window was depressing, a view of the main road. A nice touch though was that as well as a Quran there was a nice prayer mat in each room. On our first morning we went down to breakfast to discover that the female staff had already let some guests have breakfast for our rooms. The head of staff quickly resolved this apologising profusely. In fact apart from this confusion on the first day we found the restaurant staff to be very nice people. They always had a smile for us and the waiters always ready to assist. We were very very disappointed with the very limited cooked breakfast items - there was barely any variety and apart from on one day only vegetarian options. The pancakes were disgusting and tasted like long life ones from packets rather than freshly made. Very very disappointing. But the worst was that there was no fresh coffee!! Only sachets of instant coffee. How is this possible in a so called five star restaurant? There was a big unhealthy selection of pastries though. And the strawberry juice when available was nice. We tried to order room service in the evening on one occasion- the staff member (chef?) who answered the call was rude and told us some of the items were either unavailable or incorrectly described on the menu! On the whole staying at this hotel was a major inconvenience due to its location and at best it is a three star hotel. I would not stay here again.

To start from the reception, the gentlemen at the reception was very professional and helpful and spoke good English which made our checkin process very easy - thank you Mohammed.Rooms are very clean and tidy and good for families. Location is just 2 mins walk to Haram.Only improvement area would be to have good toiletries as it's very simple and less quality/quantities for a family.Thank you Hilton Madina team.

I stayed in room 920 from June 25 to June 28 room was too dark and old. The room need full renovation closet was terrible wood same tissue box I never saw someone like that one. In three night stay housekeeping did not enter my room knowing that the green light was on and mentioned that they should clean the room. On the third day I contacted the reception and asked them about the reason the answer was it’s not enough to keep the green lite on for housekeeping you should call !! I felt like if I am an employee in this hotel not a guest paying around 200$ my room per night. Breakfast was cheap comparing to the room price. Better to choose another hotel if you visit Medina. This hotel is for more groups business not individuals paying around low packages price.

Price of 5* but it is more like a 3* in european/american standards. Poor reception, awful breakfast with no buffet, packed breakfast with no fresh orange juice!!! never happened to me before in KSA where you can get fresh juice everywhere. No eggs option, no french toasts, no butter....just hummus and turkish bread. The hotel is far from city, close tonniwhere. No options nearby or at hotel for decent diner. No recommendable at all.

My husband and I, with our two teenage children stayed here during our Umrah trip. We arrived at 12pm and although check in was at 4pm, we were swiftly checked in and given our room much earlier than anticipated. Reception staff were very welcoming. The room consisted of a bedroom and main bathroom as well as a separate room for the children with a small toilet room attached. The room was spacious and clean with slippers and toiletries provided. For breakfast, there were plenty of options available. This hotel is truly a hidden gem and very close to the Masjid e Nabvi. From the hotel door to the boundary of the masjid, I counted 125 steps! This is to gate 16 of the masjid. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance including the larger fast food chains and smaller vendors. There seemed to be something for everybody. There are lots of local shops all of which were mostly reasonably priced. We had an overall good experience but if I was to improve one thing, I would say that the quality of housekeeping daily was not to the standard as when we checked in.
